I have a hobby & want to sell what I make on the net.

I would like a small website – to post pictures – descriptions
of things that I make – made or can make.

Can anyone recommend a free or low cost web hosting company
that doesn’t require a ton of techie know how?

Addition of ‘click’ adds for added $ in my pocket would be great as well.

Try VlexoFree ( http://vlexofree.com ). They are completely free, have all the features you could need, the staff are very friendly, and the owner is always active on the forums and open to any suggestions the members have. They offer up to 2GB of space and they are overall a great community to be hosted with.

    Good luck!

    Hi,

I would recommend “Host Gator” because it’s very cheap and reliable. Their support service is awesome. This company offers site building tools, application vault, web mail, antivirus, Php, MysQL ,e-commerce and hosts unlimited websites in one plan. Don’t go for free web hosting. They are not reliable. Check it out here :

If you visit http://www.humyo.com you can have access to 5gb for files and 25gb for images and videos etc.
You have to remember to make the files you upload “public” so that anyone else on the internet can view them, and you cannot choose your own website domain name (it will be something like humyo.com/YOUR-USER-NUMBER/YOUR-FILENAME FOR EVERY PAGE) but as its completely free its not a bad alternative to blogs and the social networking sites which have restrictions as to what you can upload.
As for making your individual web pages you can use notepad, but there are great HTML editors, such as Kompozer, which can make perfectly viewable pages, rather than go through the hassle of doing everything manually with notepad.
You can copy and paste in the html code for any adverts and affiliate links that you like by clicking on insert, then clicking on the HTML option.
Once you have created your html page and saved it to your hard drive, you can then open it with notepad and make any manual tweaks to it you like.
To practice with Kompozer try saving any web page you like on the internet to your pc, and then opening it with Kompozer and making changes to it.
All for free its a great way to start building a site.
    That’s how I got started.

Free web hosting companies come with ad banners which can be quite annoying to your users. Rather, you can try cheap and economical web hosting. I’d recommend you iPage. When you register a domain name you usually require a web hosting. iPage brings you a convenience. You can now book an iPage free domain registration great with your web hosting package. You can also get the web hosting plans a discounts: http://www.webhostingbreak.com/ipage-coupon/
